Christmas ornaments
Christmas ornaments come in a variety of materials. You can find glass,
crystal, wood, metal, fabric and painted ornaments of various types.
Ornaments are available to adorn your tree in any style you deem festive.
And if you cannot find ornaments to suit your fancy, ornaments are surprisingly
simple to create yourself.
The first thing to do when you are starting out collecting your own
Christmas ornaments, or if you are sick of the old standards and are
shooting for something new, is to decide on a central theme or color
scheme. There are many ideas to choose from, consider some of the following
list:
• Whimsical – you may choose to adorn this tree with joyful,
happy and unusual ornaments.
• Religious – choose to decorate your tree with nativity
ornaments or religious symbols that are meaningful to you.
• Modern – employ contemporary ornaments that echo your
modern sensibility. Clean lines and simple shapes are often the indicators
of modernism.
• Old-Fashioned – find antique ornaments that echo a vintage
theme.
• Woodland – choose ornaments that echo an outdoorsy winter
scene with woodland animals and natural elements.
• Colors – you may choose to forgo a structured theme and
just use a color scheme with your tree. By choosing one, two or three
colors, you can still coordinate your tree with festive Christmas ornaments
without committing to a specific theme.
